Governor Ademola Adeleke, candidate of the Accord Party in the ongoing 2026 Osun State governorship election, has cast his vote in his hometown of Ede, calling for peace and responsible conduct throughout the electoral process.
Adeleke arrived at his polling centre accompanied by his wife and cast his ballot at exactly 8:45 a.m. at Sagba Agbogunde Ward 2, Polling Unit 9, Ede North Local Government Area.
The polling unit is the governor’s long-standing voting centre in Ede, where he has participated in previous elections. Current election-day reports also confirm that Adeleke voted at the same Sagba Agbogunde Ward 2, Unit 9 polling unit as voting commenced across the state. (Vanguard News)
Speaking after voting, Adeleke expressed confidence in the democratic process and appealed to voters and political stakeholders to remain peaceful, law-abiding and respectful of one another as accreditation, voting, counting and collation continue.
The governor also commended the security personnel deployed across the state for their presence and efforts to safeguard voters, electoral officials and election materials.
His call for peace comes against the backdrop of heightened political tensions and reported security concerns in parts of Osun ahead of the poll. INEC had earlier identified election flashpoints across the state and worked with security agencies on measures aimed at preventing violence and protecting the electoral process. (Situation Room)
As voting continues, Adeleke urged citizens to exercise their franchise peacefully and to resist provocation, violence, misinformation and any attempt to disrupt the process.

Societal Concerns, reporting from the field, commends the security agencies for maintaining a visible presence around polling environments and urges all stakeholders—political parties, candidates, supporters, voters, electoral officials and observers—to place the protection of lives and the integrity of the democratic process above partisan interests.
The message from Ede is clear: vote peacefully, respect the process and allow the people’s mandate to prevail.
