The founder of the renowned Ladipo Spare Parts Market in Lagos, Alhaji Mufutau Ariyibi Akinwunmi, popularly known as Olowopapa, has passed away at the age of 93.
According to a statement released by his family, the respected businessman and community leader died in the early hours of Friday, May 29, 2026.
Alhaji Akinwunmi was widely celebrated as the pioneer of Ladipo Spare Parts Market, which has grown over the decades into one of Nigeria’s largest and most influential automobile spare parts trading hubs, attracting merchants and customers from across the country and beyond.
