The Lagos Elite Lions Club, under District 404B2 Nigeria, In a vibrant display of civic responsibility and grassroots engagement took its July Service Activity to the heart of Oregun community on Saturday, July 19, 2025, with a campaign tagged “Clean Up, Lift Up: Elite Lions in Action.”
The event, held at Oregun Market (Oluyole Bus Stop, Oregun Road), featured a series of impactful environmental and public health interventions, including a Walk for Cleaner Lagos Awareness Campaign, drainage cleaning and fumigation, dirt sorting training, and the donation of cleaning materials and waste bins.
As part of their long-standing tradition of “Real Service, Committed to Serve,” members of the Lagos Elite Lions Club were warmly received by the Royal Father of Oregun Kingdom, who commended the club’s efforts and pledged that the materials donated would be properly managed to sustain environmental hygiene across the community.
“Your coming here today is not just symbolic but deeply impactful. These cleaning tools and waste bins will be used diligently, and we will ensure they serve the purpose intended—to uplift the hygiene and dignity of Oregun,” the Royal Father stated with deep appreciation.
Led by Lion Lucy Nwadinma Unegbu, Club President, and Lion Joshua Nyam, Service Chairperson, the team also conducted sensitization talks on waste management, personal sanitation, and community responsibility, encouraging market leaders, youth, and traders to take ownership of their environment.
According to Lion Unegbu, “We believe that community service starts with simple but consistent acts that inspire cleanliness, health, and pride. When we lift our communities, we lift lives—and that is what we’ve come here to do today.”

Residents lauded the Lions Club for choosing their community for such a meaningful project, describing the engagement as timely and transformative. The youth in particular expressed readiness to continue the cleanliness campaign, supported by the donated materials.
