Lions Clubs International brought its Multiple District 404 Convention to a resounding close with a grand preliminary session at WODIF Hall, Osogbo, celebrating exceptional service, unity, and global humanitarian impact.
The prestigious gathering was highlighted by the presentation of the International President’s Awards to notable Lions leaders for their remarkable contributions during the 2024/2025 Lions year. The honorees includes Council Chairperson (CC) Anogwi Anyanwu, Council Administrative Leader (CAL) Taiwo Adewunmi, Lion Adedeji Olukokun and others were commended for their visionary leadership and dedication to the Lions’ mission of service.
Representing the International President, Fabricio Oliveira, was Lion Princess Tope Tychus, PMJF, NLCF, International Director for Constitutional Area VII (Africa). Delivering the awards, she emphasized the significance of the recognition, stating: “These awards are a mark of excellence in leadership, compassion, and service – in recognition of distinguished achievements in fulfilling the mission of Lions Clubs International.”
The session, which drew Lions from across Nigeria and beyond, was a vibrant mix of celebration and forward planning. It featured award presentations in various categories, including sports competitions, parade contests, and cultural showcases, as well as a reflection on Nigeria’s 60/40 Lions Anniversary, celebrating 60 years of Lionism globally and 40 years in Nigeria.
Beyond festivities, the convention also served as a platform for strategic discussions on advancing humanitarian efforts, expanding service to underserved communities, and promoting inter-district collaboration. Legacy projects were showcased and strategic service plans unveiled to guide the upcoming Lions year.
With this successful convention, Lions Clubs International once again reaffirmed its position as the world’s largest and most impactful service organization, inspiring communities through volunteerism, leadership, and global citizenship.
