NIMC DG, Engr Abisoye Coker-Odusote, Receives Honorary Doctorate for Contributions to Nation-Building
The Director General and CEO of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Engr Abisoye Coker-Odusote, has been conferred with an honorary doctorate by the African University of Science and Technology (AUST) in Abuja.
The recognition was bestowed during the University’s 10th Convocation Ceremony held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, in the Federal Capital Territory.
According to a statement released by the Head of Corporate Communication at NIMC, Dr. Kayode Adegoke, the award acknowledges Engr Coker-Odusote’s outstanding contributions to nation-building, particularly her transformative leadership in the identity management sector.
Since assuming her role as DG/CEO of NIMC, Engr Coker-Odusote has spearheaded significant advancements in the identity management space, earning her widespread acclaim for her commitment and innovative approach.
In her acceptance speech, Engr Coker-Odusote expressed gratitude to the management of AUST for the honor. She pledged to continue her efforts in driving impactful initiatives that contribute to Nigeria’s development.
“I am deeply humbled by this recognition and remain dedicated to making meaningful contributions to the growth and progress of our country,” she said.
The honorary doctorate further highlights Engr Coker-Odusote’s growing reputation as a key figure in Nigeria’s socio-economic transformation through effective identity management.
