In the wake of the tragic killing of Deputy Superintendent of Customs (DSP) Sadiq Tahir Muhammad, who lost his life during an attack at Maje in Bagudo Local Government Area of Kebbi State on Saturday, November 8, 2025, the Customs Area Controller, Kebbi Command, Comptroller Mahmoud Matawalle Ibrahim, has paid a condolence visit to the affected area to commiserate with officers, colleagues, and members of the local community.
The visit, which took place on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, brought together key security stakeholders, including the Commanding Officer of the 1 Battalion, Nigerian Army, Major Shola Elijah Moses, the Village Head of Maje (represented by Chief Imam Liman Yusuf), representatives of sister security agencies, and local residents who gathered to honor the fallen officer.
Addressing officers and community members, Comptroller Matawalle expressed profound grief over the untimely death of DSP Sadiq, describing him as a gallant and dedicated officer who served with integrity and courage. He offered prayers for the peaceful repose of his soul and extended heartfelt condolences to his family, colleagues, and the Maje community.
He urged officers of the Command to remain resolute, vigilant, and united in the face of prevailing security challenges, emphasizing that the incident should strengthen their resolve to continue serving the nation with dedication. The Comptroller also underscored the importance of inter-agency collaboration and the need for cordial relations with host communities, noting that such partnerships are vital in addressing threats and ensuring collective security.
