The Executive Chairman of Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Jimoh Olawale, has been recognised for his swift response and outstanding commitment to security with a Security Services Award, in commendation of his proactive support for the protection of security personnel and community safety.
The award was presented during the Campaign Against Killing Security Personnel, an advocacy initiative organised by the Societal Concerns Organization. The campaign seeks to draw national attention to the increasing threats faced by security operatives and to promote collective responsibility in safeguarding those tasked with protecting lives and property.

Hon. Olawale’s recognition followed what organisers described as his “swiftness, responsiveness and operational support” to security agencies within Apapa-Iganmu LCDA. His administration has consistently prioritised security collaboration, prompt intervention, and strategic engagement with security stakeholders to ensure peace and stability across the council area.
Presenting the award, representatives of Societal Concerns Organization noted that the Security Services Award category was specifically created to commend public office holders and institutions that demonstrate exceptional commitment to the welfare, safety and effectiveness of security personnel. They emphasised that Hon. Olawale’s leadership stood out as a model of responsive governance and practical support for security operations at the grassroots level.
The award also aligns with the broader objectives of the campaign, which advocates for the protection of security personnel, accountability for crimes against them, and sustained public awareness on the importance of security operatives in national development and unity.
