Goodwill Message from the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, on the Occasion of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary
On this historic day, as we commemorate Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary, I, on behalf of the government and people of Lagos State, extend warm congratulations to all Nigerians both at home and abroad. This day marks not only the birth of our nation but also the enduring spirit of resilience, unity, and hope that binds us together as one people.
As we reflect on the words of our President in his Independence Day message, it is clear that our nation’s future lies in the hands of our youth. The President has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to advancing policies that prioritize the empowerment of our young people through education, entrepreneurship, and innovation. The Lagos State government fully aligns with these goals and remains dedicated to ensuring that our youth are given every opportunity to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
At the heart of our policies in Lagos State is a commitment to youth development and inclusion in the growth of our economy. Through various initiatives such as the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), our tech incubation programs, and vocational training centers, we continue to invest in the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of our young people. Our youth are the future leaders, innovators, and builders of this great nation, and we must equip them with the skills, knowledge, and resources to succeed.
As we celebrate 64 years of independence, we must also renew our collective commitment to peace, unity, and nation-building. This government, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that every Lagosian, particularly our youth, can contribute meaningfully to the development of our state and country.
Today, let us remember that the journey toward greatness requires perseverance, collaboration, and a shared vision for a better Nigeria. I encourage our youth to take advantage of the opportunities provided by both the federal and Lagos State governments, to stay engaged in shaping policies, and to remain optimistic about the future of our beloved nation.
