The ranking lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) James Abiodun Faleke, brought together political leaders, Party faithfuls and community members from Ikeja LG, Onigbongbo LCDA, and Ojodu LCDA to commemorate June 12 Democracy Day.
Despite his ongoing legislative duties at the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Faleke ensured the celebration was held successfully. He affirmed his support for making it an annual event to honour the heroes of Nigeria’s democratic struggle.
The celebration, which took place at LTV8 Blueroof in Agidingbi area of Ikeja, had in attendance several apex leaders and stakeholders, including Hon. Sonola Oladele; Chief Matthew Adesanya (Baba Maos); Chief (Mrs.) Modupe Olaiya; Alhaja Olusola Kokumo (Ojodu LGA Party Chairman); Chief (Mrs.) Toyin Obaseki; Hon. Kayode Ajakaiye (Former LGA Chairmen, Ojodu LCDA); Baba Famakinwa; Hon. (Mrs.) Ruth Odudu; and Alhaja Akerele (Onigbongbo LCDA Party Chairman).
Others who graced the event also include Hon. Gbemi Lolade (APC LGA Vice Chairman, Ojodu LCDA); Hon. Michael Akindele MKO; Hon. Olusanya Olanike; Hon. Adebayo Aderonke; Elder Dare Oladapo; Hon. Bosun Jeje; Alhaji Kehinde Onifade (The Oracle” of Onigbongbo LCDA); and Hon. Lola Jackson amongst others
Also present were APC Chairmanship Candidates: Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD – Ikeja LG); Hon. Moyosore Adsbanjo (Onigbongbo LCDA) and Hon. Olusegun Odunmbaku (DOS – Ojodu LCDA)
In attendance as well were serving councillors, supervisory councillors, and all 18 councillorship candidates across Ikeja Federal Constituency.
The event, which was the first of its kind in the constituency, served as a symbol of unity, showcasing the peaceful coexistence of political leaders and stakeholders in the constituency, and reaffirming their collective commitment to service, progress, and good governance.
