Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reiterated his administration’s dedication to delivering the Lekki International Airport and other transformative infrastructural projects across the state.

During a visit to Alaro City along the Lekki-Epe Expressway on Saturday, Governor Sanwo-Olu announced that aviation regulators would arrive in Lagos next week for a site inspection, signaling the imminent commencement of the airport’s construction — a project expected to boost future investments in the state.

The Governor, accompanied by members of the Lagos State Executive Council, toured key establishments within Alaro City, including Ariel Foods, BUA, TY Danjuma Logistics Park, and Universal Homes.

Sanwo-Olu also revealed plans to kickstart the Green Line Rail project, which will connect Marina to Lekki, highlighting that funding arrangements are already in progress. He commended Alaro City for its robust physical infrastructure, emphasizing the state government’s continuous efforts to attract investments to the Lekki Free Trade Zone — a vision initiated by President Bola Tinubu two decades ago.

Encouraging investors to seize the opportunity, the Governor expressed optimism about the region’s future, stating:
“There are additional life-changing projects happening here beyond what we’ve seen in the last 10–15 years. In the next decade, this place will be completely transformed.”

The Chairman of Alaro City, Mr. Ayo Gbeleyi, and the Managing Director, Mr. Yomi Ademola, lauded the state government’s partnership with private organizations, acknowledging its role in driving investments, job creation, and infrastructural development, including the Lekki Deep Sea Port and the six-lane Lekki-Epe Expressway.

The proposed Lekki International Airport and Green Line Rail are set to further position Lagos as a hub for business and economic growth.
