President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged state governors and other leaders to remain steadfast in their efforts to build a greater Nigeria, emphasizing the need for unity and collective action to achieve the nation’s aspirations.
The president made this call on Monday evening while hosting state governors, members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), service chiefs, and selected heads of agencies to Iftar, the traditional breaking of the Ramadan fast, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Present at the gathering were Vice President Kashim Shettima and Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, alongside other top government functionaries.
In his address, President Tinubu highlighted the importance of servant leadership, calling on leaders at all levels to continue working towards improving the welfare of Nigerians.
“Our duty as leaders is to serve the people and strive for a better, greater Nigeria. Let us remain united in our purpose and continue working for the progress our citizens desire,” he said.
He also acknowledged the recent drop in food prices across the country, attributing it to the combined efforts of the federal and state governments in tackling economic challenges.
“We are seeing a downward trend in the prices of food commodities. This progress is a result of our collective work at both federal and state levels, and we must sustain these efforts for the good of our people,” the president added.
The Iftar provided an opportunity for the nation’s top leaders to reflect on the significance of Ramadan — a time of sacrifice, compassion, and renewed commitment to serving humanity.
President Tinubu urged everyone present to use the holy month as a period for deep reflection and to double down on efforts aimed at ensuring peace, stability, and economic growth across the country.
The gathering concluded with prayers for Nigeria’s continued progress and the well-being of its citizens.
