President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Customs Service, Dr. Adewale Bashir Adeniyi, on his 60th birthday, commending his dedication to national service and the far-reaching reforms under his leadership.
The President praised Dr. Adeniyi for repositioning the Nigerian Customs Service through automation, digitisation, capacity building, and the adoption of global best practices, leading to improved trade facilitation, revenue performance, and border security. He also highlighted Adeniyi’s election as Chairman of the World Customs Organization (WCO) in June 2025 as a major achievement that has enhanced Nigeria’s global standing.
President Tinubu further acknowledged the Comptroller-General’s role in advancing the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), strengthening partnerships with traders and international institutions, and fostering better community relations.
The President prayed for continued good health, strength, and wisdom for Dr. Adeniyi as he continues to serve the nation.
