Official Statement: Dangote Refinery Addresses EFCC Visit

Contrary to recent speculations, Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) clarified that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officials visited its head office on January 4, 2024. Addressing concerns raised in certain media outlets, DIL emphasized that the EFCC officers left without taking any documents.

In an advertorial published in national dailies, DIL revealed that its team had already delivered the initial batch of documents to the EFCC on the same day of their visit. The statement highlighted the open and transparent nature of DIL’s operations, expressing the company’s commitment to cooperation.

The company acknowledged the EFCC’s interest in documents dating back to 2014 and sought clarification on specific subsidiaries or companies within the group. Despite requesting additional time for document compilation, DIL stated that the EFCC did not provide clarification and insisted on a swift submission.

DIL assured its commitment to providing the EFCC with all necessary information and cooperation, emphasizing compliance with the law. The company has already delivered the first set of documents and is actively working to compile and submit the remaining information within the stipulated timeframe to facilitate the ongoing investigation.
