The spokesperson of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Stephen Ogundipe, has reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to excellence, describing it as an institution that prides itself on operating above common standards in legislative practice.

Speaking on behalf of the House, Ogundipe commended the doggedness and visionary leadership of the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, for what he termed a record-breaking initiative in establishing a liaison office in Abuja. He noted that the development marks a significant milestone in strengthening the Assembly’s institutional presence at the nation’s political capital.

According to him, the move not only enhances legislative coordination but also sets a new parliamentary standard worthy of emulation by other state assemblies across the country. He emphasized that with Abuja serving as the seat of political power, the establishment of a liaison office is both strategic and necessary for effective governance and engagement.

Ogundipe further disclosed that the Speaker highlighted the functional importance of the office, stating that it will be officially accessible to both serving and former members of the Lagos State House of Assembly for correspondence and legislative engagements. He added that matters relating to international relations will henceforth be handled within the facility, eliminating the need for informal arrangements in hotels.

He concluded that the initiative underscores the Assembly’s commitment to professionalism, institutional growth, and global best practices in parliamentary administration.
