Uyo, Nigeria — June 14, 2025
Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has approved office space for SEPLAT Energy at the prestigious Udom Emmanuel Towers in Uyo, signaling a strategic move to deepen the company’s footprint in the state’s thriving energy sector.
The announcement was made during a high-level courtesy visit to the governor by the Honourable Minister of State for Gas, Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, and the Executive Vice President (Upstream) of NNPC Limited, Mr. Udobong Ntia. Governor Eno commended SEPLAT for its interest and commitment to investing in Akwa Ibom, describing the state as fully open for business in the gas and energy space.
“I want to appreciate SEPLAT for identifying Akwa Ibom as a key destination for energy investment,” Governor Eno stated. “We are delighted to welcome them and are providing space at the Udom Emmanuel Towers—an iconic facility built under the leadership of former Governor Udom Emmanuel, whom I must also commend for this legacy infrastructure.”
The visit comes ahead of the upcoming Gas Aggregator Conference scheduled for July 2025, which Akwa Ibom will host. Governor Eno pledged the full support of his administration for the successful hosting of the high-profile industry gathering.
“Our state is more than ready to host this major conference,” he assured. “With ongoing transformative projects such as the Ibom Deep Seaport and expanded aviation infrastructure, Akwa Ibom is positioning itself as Nigeria’s premier hub for investment, logistics, and energy development.”
The governor’s gesture is seen as part of broader efforts to attract private sector investment and promote industrialization in Akwa Ibom, leveraging its coastal advantage and expanding infrastructure.
Stakeholders present expressed confidence that SEPLAT’s entry into Akwa Ibom would accelerate economic activities, job creation, and innovation in the gas value chain.
