The Southwest Baales Forum has officially endorsed the Progressive Community Leaders Forum Ogun State Alliance for Tinubu/Yayi 2027, reaffirming its commitment to grassroots mobilization, community development, and progressive governance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was led by the President of the Southwest Baales Forum, Chief Abu Jelili Ododo, Baale of Ijedodo and Oba-Elect, alongside the National Secretary of the Forum, Chief Akeem Rabiu, Baale of Amuwo Odofin, during a strategic meeting of community leaders and stakeholders.
The alliance is under the chairmanship of High Chief Sodiq Adisa, Baale of Ope-Ilu Land and Oba-Elect of Ope-Ilu, Ogun State, who also serves as the State Chairman of the Progressive Community Leaders Forum, Ogun State.
Speaking on behalf of the Southwest Baales Forum, Chief Abu Jelili Ododo commended the establishment of the alliance, describing it as a laudable initiative capable of deepening grassroots participation in governance and strengthening the relationship between the people and government.
According to him, community leaders occupy a unique position as the closest representatives of the people at the grassroots and are therefore well positioned to mobilize support for developmental initiatives and democratic engagement.
He pledged the support of the Southwest Baales Forum towards the success of the Progressive Community Leaders Forum Ogun State Alliance for Tinubu/Yayi 2027, noting that collaboration among traditional community leaders remains essential for sustainable development and effective representation.
Also speaking, the National Secretary of the Southwest Baales Forum, Chief Akeem Rabiu, emphasized the need for unity among community leaders across the Southwest, stressing that collective action would ensure that the voices of grassroots communities are adequately represented in governance and policy implementation.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Progressive Community Leaders Forum, Ogun State, High Chief Sodiq Adisa, welcomed community leaders, traditional stakeholders, and residents across Ogun State and beyond to join the progressive movement.
He described the alliance as a positive development designed to bridge the gap between government and the people, while providing a credible platform through which community concerns, aspirations, and developmental needs can be effectively communicated to relevant authorities.
High Chief Adisa further stated that the forum would continue to champion people-oriented policies, promote community development, encourage peaceful coexistence, and support progressive governance in line with the vision of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The meeting concluded with a collective commitment by participants to strengthen grassroots mobilization, promote democratic values, and work towards the realization of developmental goals that will positively impact communities across Ogun State and the Southwest region.
