As preparations intensify for the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, the Ports Authority Police (Western) Command has assured members of the public, port users, and maritime stakeholders of robust security measures to ensure a peaceful and secure festive period.
In a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Isaac Hundeyin, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olanrewaju Olawale Ishola, psc(+), mnips, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives, property, and critical infrastructure in and around the port environment.
With the expected surge in human and vehicular movements during the festivities, the Command has deployed additional personnel and intensified patrol operations at strategic locations. It has also reinforced intelligence-gathering mechanisms to prevent any breach of peace or security within the port and surrounding areas.
“Our operational strategies have been enhanced to ensure that the Eid celebration is observed without fear or threat. We are working round the clock to maintain law and order,” CP Ishola stated.
The Command also called on residents and port users to remain law-abiding, stay alert, and report any suspicious activities or security concerns to the nearest police station.
