Police Neutralize Kidnappers AIG Hakeem Odumosu’s Wife, Recover Ransom

The Nigeria Police Force has successfully neutralized the gang of kidnappers responsible for the abduction of Mrs. Odumosu, wife of former Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Hakeem Odumosu. The incident, which occurred in Ogun State, had sparked widespread concern, but swift police action ensured her safe rescue and recovery of the ransom paid to the abductors.  

The operation, led by operatives of the Ogun State Police Command under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Lanre Ogunlowo, was described as “well-coordinated and highly professional.” The police, acting on intelligence, tracked down the kidnappers to their hideout and engaged them in a fierce gunfight. All members of the gang were neutralized during the encounter, and no casualties were recorded among the security forces or civilians.  

Speaking on the successful operation, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun commended the efforts of the police operatives and the leadership of CP Lanre Ogunlowo. He praised their swift response and unwavering commitment to protecting citizens.  

“The swift action of the Ogun State Police Command in neutralizing this dangerous gang and rescuing Mrs. Odumosu safely is a testament to our commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of Nigerians. 

The IGP also reiterated the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to maintaining law and order across the country, ensuring that criminal elements have no safe haven.  

The rescue operation also led to the recovery of the ransom reportedly paid to the kidnappers before the operation was launched. The funds have been secured 

The Ogun State Police Command has assured residents of intensified efforts to tackle kidnapping and other criminal activities in the state. CP Lanre Ogunlowo urged citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the police.
