Faleke Launches Education Infrastructure Upgrade in Ikeja Federal Constituency
In a decisive move to improve the welfare and learning conditions of students, the Ranking Member of the House of Representatives representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke (OON), has unveiled a strategic educational intervention targeting public secondary schools within the constituency.
The initiative, titled “Provision of Care Infrastructure and Support in Public Secondary Schools”, focuses on upgrading essential facilities that directly impact the health, comfort, and overall well-being of students.
Under the project, two major public schools—Ojodu Junior Grammar School and Ojodu Junior High School—are set to benefit from comprehensive infrastructural improvements, including:
- Remodelling of Male and Female Toilets – Existing toilet blocks in both schools are being completely renovated to meet modern standards, with the aim of accommodating the growing student population while upholding high hygiene practices.
- Modernization of Sickbay Facilities – The sickbays in both schools are being upgraded with modern medical equipment and fittings, ensuring students have access to prompt and adequate healthcare during school hours.
Speaking on the intervention, Faleke emphasized that quality education extends beyond the classroom.
“Our children deserve to learn in an environment that upholds their dignity, safeguards their health, and supports their academic growth,” he said. “By improving these basic but critical facilities, we are investing in the holistic development of our future leaders.”
The upgrades are expected to not only enhance sanitary conditions but also provide a safe, functional, and supportive learning environment for students.
This development reinforces Rt. Hon. Faleke’s longstanding commitment to education, youth development, and community welfare across Ikeja Federal Constituency.
