The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Area C Command, Surulere, Lagos, commemorated its 42nd anniversary with a major medical outreach programme targeted at security personnel, their families, and children with special needs, including those living with autism.
The event, organised under the leadership of the PCRC Area C Command, reflected the committee’s commitment to community development, humanitarian service, and the welfare of police officers and residents within the command.
Leading the anniversary medical outreach committee was Amb. Solomon Otuya, who coordinated the initiative alongside stakeholders, healthcare professionals, and community partners to ensure the successful execution of the programme.
The outreach featured free medical consultations, health screenings, and wellness support services for officers, their spouses, children, and members of the host communities. Special attention was dedicated to children with autism and other special needs, demonstrating the committee’s inclusive approach to healthcare and social support.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of PCRC Area C Command, Alhaji Shuiab Ademola Rasaq, applauded the initiative and emphasized the importance of prioritizing the welfare of police personnel and their families. He noted that protecting those who safeguard society remains in line with the vision and welfare-driven agenda of the Inspector-General of Police.
Alhaji Rasaq further stated that the PCRC would continue to strengthen the relationship between the police and the public through impactful programmes capable of improving lives and promoting peaceful coexistence.
Also present at the event was Roth Ajibulu Bankole, the Deputy Chairman, Zone 2, who represented the State Chairman, Apostle Sowemimo, as well as the Zone 2 Chairman, Ven. Dr. Samson Kunle. In his remarks, he commended the organizers for sustaining the PCRC vision of community partnership and humanitarian service over the years.
The Women Legal Adviser, Barrister Ene Sarah Ogbo-Unobe, also praised the initiative, particularly the inclusion of children with special needs in the medical outreach. She described the programme as a symbol of compassion, inclusiveness, and social responsibility especially to the market women who had no time for medical attention.

In furtherance of community development and partnership, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Area C Command commended the entire team and supporting organizations for their dedication toward improving healthcare access and promoting public trust between security agencies and the people.
Speaking with the Societal Concerns Media Team during the outreach programme, a physically challenged participant, Mr. Ebon, expressed deep appreciation to the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) for the care and inclusiveness demonstrated during the 42nd anniversary medical outreach organised by the Area C Command, Surulere, Lagos.
Mr. Ebon revealed that the event marked his first encounter with the PCRC, stating that he had only just come to know about the organization through the invitation extended to him. According to him, he was warmly received and given equal attention alongside every other participant at the programme.
He further commended the organisers for ensuring that persons living with disabilities were not left out of the healthcare initiative, noting that he received free medications and proper medical attention without discrimination.

Expressing excitement and gratitude, Mr. Ebon described the outreach as a life-touching experience and praised the PCRC for its humanitarian approach toward vulnerable members of society. He also showed enthusiasm about becoming a member of the PCRC community, stating that the organisation’s compassion and commitment to service had inspired him greatly.
His testimony added to the growing commendations from beneficiaries and stakeholders who applauded the PCRC Area C Command for using its 42nd anniversary celebration to impact lives and strengthen community relations through healthcare and social support initiatives.

The colourful anniversary programme attracted notable guests, healthcare institutions, corporate partners, and community leaders, all united in support of programmes that promote welfare, security, and sustainable community development.
As the PCRC marks 42 years of existence, the Area C Command’s medical outreach initiative stands as a reflection of its enduring commitment to service, humanity, and stronger police-community relations in Nigeria.
