Primate Ayodele Hosts Another Edition of Palliative Market in Ogun State
Continuing his commitment to philanthropy, Primate Ayodele has once again extended his support to the public through his palliative market initiative. The latest edition was held today at the Ijoko branch of his church in Ogun State, marking the fourth event since its inception in 2023.
The palliative market initiative, which began at the Lagos headquarters of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has seen previous editions in Lagos and Ekiti State. The third edition coincided with the inauguration of a new church in Ekiti.
At today’s event, Primate Ayodele significantly reduced the prices of essential food items, including rice, noodles, semolina, garri, groundnut oil, and wheat. Key discounts included:
– 30 half-bags of rice sold at N8,000 each
– Paints of garri at N500
– Bags of semolina at N2,000
– Kegs of groundnut oil at N2,500
– Bags of wheat at N2,000
– Small and large cartons of noodles at N1,000 and N2,000, respectively
The initiative was open to everyone, not just church members. It welcomed participants from various religious backgrounds, including Muslims and members of other churches, recording a significant turnout of beneficiaries.
Explaining the motivation behind the palliative market, Primate Ayodele emphasized its role in supporting the government and highlighting the widespread hardship in the country. He reiterated his commitment to continuing the initiative until economic conditions improve in Nigeria.
“We won’t stop our palliative market until the economy of Nigeria is better. This is our way of assisting the government because, truly, they can’t do it alone. We are also passing a message to the government that there is serious hardship in the country and that there is a need to work on solutions to mitigate this perilous moment,” Primate Ayodele stated.
He further urged the government to consider similar initiatives to alleviate the high cost of food items, which is causing significant distress among the population. “If the government can embrace this kind of initiative and crash the price of food items in the country, hardship will reduce drastically, and the people will benefit. The current prices of food items are causing anguish and pain; the government should do something about it.”
Primate Ayodele’s palliative market continues to serve as a beacon of hope and relief for many Nigerians, providing much-needed support in these challenging times.
