The lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) James Abiodun Faleke, has once again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to grassroots development through a large-scale empowerment programme that has drawn commendation from political leaders and constituents alike.
Held over two days—June 2nd and 3rd, 2025—at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), Ogba, the Faleke Empowerment Programme featured the distribution of ₦100,000 cash grants to 240 beneficiaries, alongside the provision of vital start-up tools and economic support packages.
Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. Segun, lauded the initiative, describing it as a powerful response to the economic needs of the people and a shining example of people-oriented leadership. “This programme is a direct expression of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, brought closer to the grassroots by Hon. Faleke,” he said.
The event saw the distribution of industrial equipment to artisans, small-scale entrepreneurs, and security agencies. Items included industrial sewing machines, tricycles, deep freezers, generators, dispatch motorcycles, pumping machines, farming tools, clippers, and security gear.
In the spirit of the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir, the programme also provided bags of rice, cows, food packs, and cash gifts to residents across the 18 wards of Ikeja Federal Constituency, ensuring that no segment of the community was left out.
The empowerment initiative was attended by notable political leaders including Hon. Julius Oloro, Chief Oludele Sonola, Alhaja Stella Kokumo, Chief Mathew Adesanya, and Alhaja Funmi Layeni, who all commended Faleke for his consistent dedication to the welfare of his constituents.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Faleke urged the beneficiaries to make wise use of the tools and grants provided, emphasizing that the goal is to stimulate self-sufficiency, promote economic growth, and reduce dependence. “We must build a constituency of empowered people who can stand on their own,” he said.
The beneficiaries, filled with joy and gratitude, offered testimonies and prayers in appreciation, hailing the lawmaker as a beacon of hope and a model for effective representation.
