The Nigerian Institute of Journalism has announced plans to hold a Special Convocation Ceremony to confer a Fellowship Award on the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi.
According to the invitation issued by the institute, the ceremony will be presided over by the Chairman of the NIJ Governing Council, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, who is expected to lead other council members and distinguished guests at the event.
The Special Convocation is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the Sir Kesington Adebutu Media Resource Centre, located within the NIJ premises along Ijaye Road, Ogba, in Lagos. Proceedings are set to commence at 1:00 p.m., with guests advised to be seated by 12:30 p.m.
The fellowship award is in recognition of Adeniyi’s contributions to public service and leadership in Nigeria’s customs administration. The event is expected to attract key stakeholders from the media industry, government institutions, and the private sector.
