Nigeria Police Unveil Logo, Mascot , Theme for 15th Biennial Police Games (BIPOGA) Asaba 2026
The Nigeria Police Force has officially unveiled the logo, mascot, and theme for the 15th Biennial Police Games (BIPOGA) Asaba 2026, scheduled to hold from February 7–14, 2026, in Asaba, Delta State.
The unveiling ceremony took place at the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan International Peacekeeping Conference Centre, Force Headquarters, Abuja.Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, described the event as a significant milestone in the Force’s commitment to professionalism, fitness, and national unity. He said the 2026 Police Games represent not just a sporting event but a renewed spirit of discipline, excellence, and community-building across the police structure.According to the IGP, the mascot and theme embody the Force’s core values.
The theme for BIPOGA Asaba 2026 is:“Beyond the Badge; Excellence in Action!”with the slogan:“Discipline, Dignity and Dedication!”“These ideals will guide every athlete and every officer,” the IGP said, emphasizing the administration’s investment in mental readiness, physical fitness, and sporting excellence.
He expressed gratitude to Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for hosting the Games and supporting preparations.Governor Oborevwori, represented by Dr. Kingsley Emu, Secretary to the State Government, reaffirmed Delta State’s readiness to host a world-class sporting event. He noted that the Police Games have become a platform for strengthening camaraderie, discovering talent, and promoting national cohesion.“The logo symbolizes identity and pride; the mascot reflects energy and courage; and the theme speaks to friendship, brotherhood, and excellence,” he stated. He assured all participants of Delta State’s hospitality and peaceful atmosphere.Chairman of the Police Sports Planning Committee, AIG Fom Pam Joseph, described the 2026 Games as an opportunity to showcase the IGP’s vision for a professional, people-friendly Police Force built on excellence and public trust. He highlighted the long record of police athletes who have earned national and international medals, stressing the Force’s commitment to developing new sporting champions.He announced that the unveiling ceremony marks the beginning of activities leading to the Games, with the upcoming inter-zonal eliminations featuring 17 police teams competing for slots in the final eight teams that will advance to Asaba 2026.
