


Nigeria Congratulates Kenya on Independence Anniversary
The Federal Government of Nigeria has extended warm felicitations to the Government and people of the Republic of Kenya as the East African nation marks its Independence Anniversary, popularly known as Jamhuri Day.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja, the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, congratulated His Excellency Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs of Kenya, on the historic milestone.
The minister described Kenya’s Independence Day as a symbol of the determination, resilience, and collective resolve of the Kenyan people in building a sovereign, peaceful, and progressive nation. He noted that Nigeria joins Kenya in celebrating the occasion while reaffirming shared commitments to democratic values, regional cooperation, and sustainable development across Africa.Ambassador Tuggar highlighted the strong and growing bilateral relations between Nigeria and Kenya, noting ongoing cooperation in key sectors such as trade, technology, education, transport, and security. He further emphasized the close collaboration between both countries within multilateral platforms including the African Union (AU), the United Nations (UN), the Commonwealth, and other international frameworks focused on peace, good governance, and inclusive growth.
Nigeria, the statement added, remains committed to strengthening diplomatic ties with Kenya, expanding areas of partnership, and deepening people-to-people relations. The country also expressed readiness to work closely with Kenya in addressing emerging global challenges and advancing Africa’s collective interests.
The statement concluded with Nigeria wishing Kenya continued peace, unity, and national prosperity as it celebrates its Independence Anniversary.
