IKEJA, LAGOS — The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), is set to celebrate his birthday anniversary on Sunday, June 7, 2026, with a series of thanksgiving and humanitarian activities aimed at appreciating God and supporting vulnerable members of society.
According to a statement released by his media team, the birthday celebration is designed as an expression of gratitude to God for His protection, guidance, and faithfulness over the chairman, his family, and the administration of Ikeja Local Government over the past two years.
As part of the celebration, Comrade Dauda will host a Special Thanksgiving Service at the Celestial Church of Christ, Agidingbi Archdiocese, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos State, by 12 noon. The event is expected to attract political leaders, community stakeholders, religious leaders, and residents, with the Chairman of the Ikeja Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) serving as the Chief Host.
The thanksgiving service will also serve as an opportunity to reflect on what supporters describe as the remarkable achievements recorded under Dauda’s leadership, including various developmental initiatives and administrative reforms that have impacted residents of the council area.
Beyond the thanksgiving service, the Ikeja council boss has lined up a number of outreach programmes focused on compassion and social responsibility. He is expected to visit churches and other community-based institutions within Ikeja and its environs to offer prayers for children and families currently held captive by bandits in different parts of the country.
The outreach will also provide support to vulnerable and less-privileged individuals, underscoring the chairman’s commitment to humanitarian service and inclusive governance. Observers note that the initiative reflects Dauda’s concern for citizens regardless of age, gender, ethnic background, or religious affiliation.
The grand finale of the birthday celebration is being organized by youths and members of the AKOD family across Ikeja Local Government. The event is intended to honour the chairman’s contributions to grassroots development and public service.
