In a move aimed at strengthening grassroots political engagement and community development across Ogun State, the Ogun State Council of Baales Alliance YAYI/TINUBU Support Group has appointed High Chief Sodiq Adisa, the Baale of Ope-Ilu in Ifo Local Government Area, as its Chairman.
The appointment was announced by the leadership of the alliance as part of efforts to consolidate support for the developmental vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the governorship aspiration of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as YAYI.
The Ogun State Council of Baales Alliance YAYI/TINUBU Support Group is a coalition of traditional community leaders and Baales drawn from various parts of the state. The group seeks to promote unity among traditional institutions, encourage grassroots participation in governance, foster peace and stability, and mobilize support for policies and programmes that will enhance the socio-economic development of Ogun State.
Other principal officers appointed to serve in the alliance include Baale Abdul Lateef Abiodun, the Baale of Olorunsogo Ebiti, who will serve as Assistant Secretary, while Chief Saka Rasaki, the Baale of Abelegbodo, Ojuelegba, Owode in Yewa South Local Government Area, has been appointed Secretary.
Members of the alliance expressed confidence in the leadership ability of High Chief Sodiq Adisa, describing him as a committed community leader with a track record of service, grassroots mobilization, and dedication to the growth of traditional institutions.
According to the group, his emergence as chairman is expected to strengthen the alliance’s objectives of bringing traditional rulers and community leaders closer to governance processes while supporting initiatives that promote peace, development, and prosperity across the state.
The alliance reaffirmed its commitment to working with stakeholders at all levels to complement government efforts in delivering sustainable development and improving the welfare of residents throughout Ogun State.
The group also emphasized the critical role of traditional institutions in promoting good governance, community cohesion, and citizen engagement, noting that Baales remain vital links between government and the grassroots.
