Fire Guts Yinka Ayefele’s Fresh FM in Ibadan
Panic broke out on Friday night in Ibadan as a fire engulfed the building housing Fresh FM 105.9, the popular radio station owned by gospel singer Yinka Ayefele.
The incident occurred at the station’s premises in the Challenge area of the Oyo State capital, sending residents and staff into a frenzy as flames spread rapidly within the structure.
Eyewitnesses at the scene confirmed that the facility was on fire and raised urgent calls for assistance. One witness, Samuel Ibikunle, took to social media to appeal for help, writing: “Fresh FM is currently on fire! We urgently need the Fire Service to respond immediately. Please spread the word and alert the nearest station.”
Confirming the development, the Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, Hon. Maroof Akinwande, assured the public that firefighters had already been deployed to the scene. “We are already there,” he stated.
As of the time of filing this report, the cause of the fire remained unknown, and the management of Fresh FM had yet to issue an official statement.
The incident has sparked concern among fans and residents, given the station’s reputation as one of the leading voices in the South-West media landscape.
