Breaking: President Tinubu Announces 30-Day National Youth Conference
President Bola Tinubu has announced a 30-day National Youth Conference aimed at addressing the challenges confronting Nigeria’s youth. The President made this declaration during his speech on Tuesday as part of the country’s 64th Independence Day Anniversary Broadcast.
In his address, Tinubu emphasized the importance of empowering young people, noting that they make up over 60% of the nation’s population. He stated that the conference would serve as a platform for meaningful dialogue on key issues such as education, employment, innovation, security, and social justice.
“As we work to overcome the challenges of today, we remain mindful of the next generation, seeking to galvanize their creative energy towards a better future,” the President said.
The President further explained that the modalities and delegate selection process for the conference would be developed in close consultation with youth representatives. The aim is to ensure that the aspirations and voices of young people are at the heart of discussions.
“The government will thoroughly consider and implement the recommendations and outcomes from this forum, as we remain resolute in our mission to build a more inclusive, secure, and prosperous nation,” Tinubu added.
This will be the President’s second Independence Day address since assuming office on May 29, 2023. The 30-day youth conference reflects his administration’s commitment to involving the next generation in the shaping of policies and the future of Nigeria.
