ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND ADDRESSES CONFLICT OVER HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATION CLAIMS
The Anambra State Police Command has initiated an investigation into allegations of human rights violations made by a former Super Falcons player, who also runs a football academy in the state. This follows public outcry through media publications alleging misconduct by some police operatives.
In a statement issued by the Command, efforts to address the matter are ongoing. The former international footballer and her team were invited for discussions to clarify the facts surrounding the allegations.
Preliminary findings revealed that the incident in question occurred months ago and that steps had already been taken to mediate and resolve the issues between the parties involved. The Command assured the public that the claims of unprofessional conduct by its operatives would be thoroughly investigated.
Under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Nnaghe Obono Itam, the Anambra State Police Command reiterated its commitment to upholding human rights and fostering positive relationships with residents of the state, especially Ndi Anambra.
The Command called for calm from all stakeholders as it continues to prioritize accountability and professionalism in its operations.
