STOP PLAYING DIRTY POLITICS WITH SEYI TINUBU’S HARD-EARNED REPUTATION – STM LAGOS CHAPTER
The Seyi Tinubu Movement (STM) Lagos State Chapter has issued a strong statement in response to growing speculations regarding Mr. Seyi Tinubu’s alleged political ambitions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a press release, STM addressed various rumors circulating in the media, purportedly by both anonymous and prominent individuals, including some elder statesmen. The group expressed disappointment at what it described as “dirty politics” aimed at tarnishing Mr. Tinubu’s reputation.
According to the statement:
Mr. Seyi Tinubu has not declared any ambition to run for public office in the 2027 general elections or beyond.
As a Nigerian youth, he is eminently qualified to contest for public office if he chooses to in the future.
Mr. Tinubu’s achievements are a result of his personal efforts and dreams, not dependent on his lineage or DNA, contrary to speculations in some quarters.
Those using the ‘Emilokan’ rhetoric to criticize him are nothing but fifth columnists aiming to disrupt the peace.
The right to free speech does not justify false accusations or fake news targeted at defaming Mr. Tinubu’s character.
The movement called on the public to disregard unauthorized statements from individuals or groups who do not represent Mr. Seyi Tinubu and urged Nigerians to focus on verified information.
“We enjoin the public to stop paying attention to news from unauthorized persons who do not speak for Mr. Seyi Tinubu but rather seek to heat up the polity,” the statement concluded.
STM reiterated its commitment to upholding the values and integrity of Mr. Seyi Tinubu while cautioning against the misuse of the media to propagate unfounded claims.
