With an heartfelt show of community solidarity, the All Ojodu Community Residents Development Association (AOCRDA) has extended their deepest sympathies to the families affected by the recent tragic building collapse at 10 Oremeta Street, which also houses the Equal Right Restaurant and Bar.
AOCRDA delegates led by prominent community figures,
visited the scene of the incident to commiserate with residents and assess the situation firsthand. The delegation included Alhaji Sanni, Elder Ogundipe, Alhaji Ojupoke, Chief Omotola, Alhaji Bakare, Elder Femi Popoola, Apostle Pele Majekodunmi, Alhaji Bisiriyu, and Alhaja Taibatwarmly received by Alhaji Alao, Comrade Seun Olowolade (Oremeta Youth Leader), and Comrade Yakubu Akinkunmi.
During the visit, the association offered condolences to the bereaved families, offered prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured, and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the affected community during this difficult time.
According to the latest update at the scene, 18 individuals were rescued, while 6 fatalities were recorded. AOCRDA solemnly mourned the dead, praying for the repose of their souls.

“We deeply appreciate their professionalism, courage, and urgency in managing the emergency and reducing the potential scale of this tragedy,” said Alhaji Bisiriyu, Assistant Secretary of AOCRDA.
In addition to expressing sympathy, the association emphasized the need for holistic community action and proactive safety measures to prevent future occurrences. The tragedy, they noted, must prompt serious reflection on urban planning, building approvals, and enforcement of safety regulations.
AOCRDA has pledged to work collaboratively with the local government and relevant agencies to ensure safer housing standards and better emergency preparedness across Ojodu.
As the community grieves, it also resolves to rise stronger—united by compassion and a renewed commitment to collective safety.
