A disturbing breach of privacy has come to light at Access Bank’s Oniru branch in Lagos, where Stephen Ifeanyichukwu Ejezie, a former quality assurance specialist, was discovered to have secretly recorded over 400 videos of his female colleagues in the bank’s restroom facilities.

The incident unfolded in the early hours of Wednesday, April 23, when a female staff member noticed a concealed phone recording her while she was bathing in the women’s restroom. Upon raising the alarm, Ejezie was found hiding in an adjacent toilet stall. He was apprehended and subsequently arrested by the bank’s security personnel .

A subsequent police investigation led to a raid of Ejezie’s residence, where authorities reportedly uncovered more than 400 explicit videos of female staff members, all taken without their consent. Further reports suggest that Ejezie had been distributing these videos online through platforms such as OnlyFans and Telegram .

Despite the severity of the offense, Ejezie was released from police custody shortly after his arrest. Access Bank has terminated his employment; however, the bank has yet to issue a public statement regarding the incident. This silence has led to growing concerns among staff members, particularly contract employees, who fear that the bank may prioritize its reputation over the pursuit of justice.

“Many of us are traumatized, and there’s a pervasive fear that these videos could resurface online at any time,” said one affected employee. “We feel abandoned and are calling for transparency and support from the bank.”

In response to the incident, Access Bank has reportedly implemented new policies prohibiting overnight stays at the office, a common practice among shift workers at the contact center. The bank has also warned that any future breaches of this nature could result in severe legal consequences .

The incident has sparked widespread outrage and calls for stricter enforcement of privacy laws in the workplace. Advocates are urging Access Bank and law enforcement agencies to take decisive action to ensure that justice is served and to prevent similar violations in the future.

This is a developing story. Societal Concerns Media will provide updates as more information becomes available.
