LASTMA Takes Decisive Action Against Traffic Congestion in Apapa/Ijora Area

In a collaborative effort with relevant security agencies, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), under the leadership of General Manager Bakare Oki, successfully impounded 78 containerized trucks around the Apapa and Ijora regions. This strategic enforcement operation, carried out during the early hours of Sunday morning, targeted the High Bridge near Lilly Pond leading to Apapa and the axis of Ijora (Olopa).

The initiative aims to ensure smooth and uninterrupted traffic flow for Lagosians during the festive season and beyond. The Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of LASTMA, Adebayo Taofiq, stated that the enforcement operation occurred between 12 a.m. and 7 a.m.

General Manager Bakare Oki emphasized the commitment to continuous enforcement with zero tolerance for indiscriminate parking and impediments in the specified axis. Motorists are urged to actively participate by promptly reporting any broken down or abandoned trailers/trucks to LASTMA through the designated hotlines: 08100565860, 08129928490, 08129928515, and 08129928593. Let’s collectively ensure a hassle-free road experience in Lagos.
