FirstBank Sponsors Inaugural Nigerian Fintech Festival 2024, Set to Revolutionize Digital Payments
The inaugural edition of the Nigerian Fintech Festival, the largest fintech event in the country, is set to take place on September 26, 2024, in Lagos. Sponsored by FirstBank, a premier financial institution in West Africa, this highly anticipated festival aims to foster collaboration and drive sustainable growth within Nigeria’s digital payment ecosystem.
Over 1,000 key players and stakeholders from the fintech and financial services sectors will gather at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, for a day of engaging discussions and networking. The event will feature industry leaders such as Damilare Odueso, Co-Founder of Crendly; Mayowa Owolabi, Co-Founder of PaddyCover; Lanre Adelanwa, CEO of Optimus AI Labs; and Adaobi Igwe-Okerekeocha, Chief Innovations Officer at Interswitch Limited.
Under the theme “The Convergence to Co-Create & Celebrate Nigeria’s Truly Digital Economy,” the festival will explore the current landscape of digital payments and offer insights into the future of fintech in Nigeria. Panel sessions, keynote presentations, and fireside chats will delve into the challenges and opportunities within the fintech space, aiming to unlock value and boost innovation.

Ikechukwu Ugwu, Founder of Total Scope Marketing Solutions and Convener of the festival, emphasized the event’s role in positioning Nigeria as a fintech leader. “By bringing together thought leaders and innovators, we aim to address the evolving needs of Africa’s fintech landscape and stimulate meaningful discussions that will drive sustainable growth,” Ugwu said.
