Dangote Peugeot Begins Assembly 3008 GT in Kaduna, Unveils Landmark Pickup

In a move to reclaim its leadership position in Nigeria’s automotive industry, Dangote Peugeot Automobiles Nigeria Limited (DPAN) has commenced local assembly of the Peugeot 3008 GT, a high-performance SUV renowned for its commercial success and international accolades. The assembly is taking place at DPAN’s modern plant in Kaduna, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria’s auto sector.

The Peugeot 3008 GT, equipped with a 1.6-litre turbo engine,  joins DPAN’s lineup of Made-in-Nigeria vehicles, which includes the 301 sedan and the 5008 SUV. The vehicle features an automatic transmission system, driver lumbar adjustment with massage function, and an array of advanced safety technologies such as lane departure warning, an electric child safety system, and rear parking assistance.

Additionally, DPAN has unveiled the Peugeot Landtrek 4×2, a 2.4-litre pickup truck designed for durability and performance. This marks the company’s foray into Nigeria’s growing light commercial vehicle segment. The introduction of the Landtrek 4×2 is expected to be followed by a 4×4 version in the near future.

Speaking on these developments, Umar Isa-Kaita, DPAN’s Chief Commercial Officer, revealed that the company is expanding its sales and after-sales network** by accrediting dealerships across Nigeria. This move is aimed at enhancing the availability of Peugeot vehicles and ensuring efficient after-sales support for customers.

Dangote Peugeot Automobiles Nigeria Limited is jointly owned by Alhaji Aliko Dangote’s Dangote Industries Limited, Kaduna, Plateau, and Kebbi State Governments, and Stellantis Group, Peugeot’s parent company. The expansion aligns with DPAN’s long-term strategy to revive the brand’s dominance in Nigeria’s auto market, leveraging its 120-vehicle daily production capacity to meet growing demand.

As the Nigerian auto industry continues to evolve, DPAN’s investment in local production reinforces its commitment to job creation, technology transfer, and economic growth, positioning Peugeot as a formidable force in the market once again.
