Popular Nollywood actress, Foluke Daramola-Salako, has officially joined the political race for Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency I, following the submission of her Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The forms were presented last weekend at the Oshodi Party Secretariat, marking a significant development in the constituency’s political landscape and signaling a shift from the traditionally male-dominated contest.
During a strategic engagement session with party leaders, including the APC Chairman in Oshodi, Saheed Animashaun, and the seven Ward Chairmen, Daramola-Salako outlined her vision for inclusive and people-driven representation.
Speaking at the meeting, the actress-turned-politician expressed strong determination and commitment to her aspiration.
“I am not just here to present my forms, but to assure you of my deep commitment and passion for the success of this aspiration,” she said.
She further highlighted her preparedness, noting that her candidacy is backed by a well-structured transition plan rooted in her years of involvement in contemporary politics and public service.
Daramola-Salako acknowledged her unique position as the only female aspirant in the race, expressing confidence in her ability to succeed.
“I am aware that I am the only woman in this contest, and I remain confident and hopeful. I have what it takes to succeed,” she stated.
She also pledged to deliver purposeful and impactful representation if elected into the 11th National Assembly, emphasizing empathy, accountability, and grassroots development as key pillars of her agenda.
“With my experience, empathy, and conscience as a woman, I assure you our people will be proud of my performance. I have the clout and influence to make meaningful change happen,” she added.
With over three decades of public engagement, spanning policymaking and humanitarian service, Daramola-Salako is positioning herself as a strong contender focused on sustainable, community-centered development initiatives.
In his remarks, APC Chairman, Saheed Animashaun, commended her courage and described her emergence as a progressive step toward inclusivity within the constituency’s political space. He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to supporting credible female aspirants with vision and leadership capacity.
Daramola-Salako is expected to continue consultations with key stakeholders and party leaders as preparations intensify ahead of the party primaries.
