The landmark event, spearheaded by the United President of the club, Rtn. (Hon.) Stephen Olukayode Ogundipe, marked a giant stride in the club’s efforts to strengthen its membership and deepen community impact.
The day began with a colorful Membership Awareness Walk, which kicked off at Ibis Royale Hotel, Airport Road. Rotarians, Rotaractors, and community members walked through major streets of Ajao Estate including 7th and 8th avenues raising awareness about Rotary’s mission and inviting residents to join the global network of service-minded professionals.
With banners, branded shirts, and lively chants, the campaign brought Rotary’s vision closer to the grassroots, making the community more informed about opportunities for service and fellowship.
The walk seamlessly transitioned into a Membership Seminar at Ibis Royale Hotel, where distinguished Rotarians and guests gathered for an enlightening session. The highlight of the seminar was the keynote address delivered by PAG Samson Okeniyi, a seasoned Club Learning Facilitator and past Assistant Governor of District 911, who spoke on the theme: “Monetary Cost and Membership in Rotary.”
In his address, PAG Okeniyi broke down the true value of Rotary membership, emphasizing that beyond financial contributions, it is knowledge, service, and commitment that sustain the Rotary spirit. His message resonated strongly with both new and prospective members, underscoring the importance of understanding Rotary’s ethos and the collective impact members can achieve.
Speaking at the event, President Rtn. Hon. Stephen Olukayode Ogundipe reaffirmed his administration’s vision to serve, grow, and strengthen the club, describing knowledge as the bedrock of membership growth.
“Our goal is not only to increase our numbers but also to empower every member with the right knowledge to make meaningful contributions. When we combine service with knowledge, we create lasting impact,” he stated.
The twin activities — the walk and seminar — attracted a robust turnout of Rotarians, Rotaractors, and community stakeholders, further cementing Ewutuntun Rotary Club’s reputation as a hub of innovation, service, and leadership under President Ogundipe’s stewardship.
The club’s members celebrated the outing as both a recruitment drive and a celebration of Rotary’s values: service above self, fellowship, and knowledge-driven leadership.
As the club continues on its growth trajectory, the Ewutuntun Rotary Club’s success story stands as a model for other Rotary clubs across Nigeria — showcasing how service, knowledge, and unity of purpose can galvanize communities and expand Rotary’s impact.
