In an inspiring blend of ambition and advocacy, popular Nigerian media personality and YouTuber, Bisiriyu Rafiu Olalekan, widely known as LekVibe, is set to attempt a Guinness World Record on August 31, 2025, with the bold goal of sending 500 slum children to school.
LekVibe will attempt to break the record for the Most Socks Worn on One Foot — currently set at 190 socks — in an event that promises to draw local and international attention, not for spectacle, but for social impact.
“This is not just about socks,” LekVibe shared. “It’s about breaking barriers and giving slum kids a shot at a future. If I can wear 190 socks on one foot, we can send 500 kids to school. That’s what this is all about.”
A seasoned sports analyst with stints at Tungba FM, IKD FM, and Agege Community Radio, and the founder of online media platform Astv9ja, LekVibe is no stranger to storytelling and grassroots advocacy. His work has spotlighted the challenges faced by vulnerable communities — from Makoko’s floating streets to under-resourced areas in Ikorodu.
The upcoming event is not just a record attempt but a fundraising campaign to support education for children living in slums, many of whom are out of school due to poverty and lack of opportunity.
