Aseyin Calls for Collaboration with Oyo Water Corporation to Enhance Water Supply in Iseyin

The Aseyin of Iseyin, His Royal Majesty Oba Sefiu Olawale, has urged the Oyo State Water Corporation to collaborate more effectively in addressing the pressing water supply challenges faced by Iseyin and its neighboring communities.  

This call was made during a visit by the Chairman of the Oyo State Water Corporation, Mr. Elias Adeojo, to the ancient town. The visit centered on finding sustainable solutions to the perennial water issues in the region.  

Mr. Adeojo acknowledged that inadequate water supply in Iseyin and surrounding areas is largely due to epileptic power supply—a challenge affecting water distribution across the state. He emphasized that the state government, under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, is committed to overcoming these challenges.  

“The provision of potable water is a key agenda of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration,” Adeojo said. “Efforts are ongoing to ensure all geopolitical zones in Oyo State have access to clean water, and His Excellency has directed us to prioritize this issue with the necessary support and resources.”  

In his remarks, Oba Sefiu Olawale expressed optimism about the prospects of resolving the water crisis, highlighting the importance of collective efforts to surmount the obstacles. He cited the successful partnership between the government and the Soun of Ogbomoso in improving water supply in Ogbomoso as an inspiration for his collaboration with the Water Corporation.  

The monarch commended Governor Makinde for his dedication to the development of Oyo State, particularly in the Oke-Ogun region, where Iseyin is located. He expressed hope that the discussions during the visit would lead to actionable outcomes that would bring lasting solutions to the water supply issues in the area.  

The visit underscores the state government’s commitment to ensuring equitable access to basic amenities like potable water, which remains a critical necessity for the people of Oyo State.
