Ogunsan, Others Make Lagos APC 36-Member Security, Intelligence Directorate for 2027 Campaign
The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted a 36-member Security and Intelligence Directorate as part of its campaign council ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial election.
The directorate comprises retired senior security officers, professionals, community stakeholders and other members drawn from various backgrounds, reflecting the party’s organisational preparations for the forthcoming electoral cycle.
Among the prominent figures named are the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr Ayodele Ogunsan; retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police, DIG Taiwo Lakanu; General Olumuyiwa Okunowo; and retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Hakeem Odumosu.
The directorate is expected to contribute to the campaign council’s security coordination, intelligence-related activities, public safety planning and stakeholder engagement during the electioneering period.
The body will also support efforts aimed at maintaining peaceful campaign activities and coordinating security-related engagements surrounding the gubernatorial candidacy of Dr Kadri Hamzat.
Other members named in the directorate include Dr Rasaq Balogun, retired Colonel Dele Oyefuga, Comrade Sola Omojuwa Omosebi, Sheriff Muhammed, Liasu Rasaq, FCA, and Honourable Wasiu Ogunlana.
The list also includes Sefiu Bello, Bolaji Idris Ariyo, Tunde Oyedeji, DCP Fashesan, Kenny Motajo, Adesanya Tolulope Shared, Adedoyin Rojaiye and Sule Yusuf.
Others are Alhaji Gafar Owolabi, Mrs Bamgbose Damilola Ajaja, Abdulrasaq Adewole, Opeyemi Ogunsakin, Yomi Jones, Niyi Olofin and Gbemisola Olusegun Kebku.
The APC further named Wuzu Shakiru, Honourable Issa Folami, Comrade Rasaq Olokuoba, ACP Segun M. Odunlami, ACP Leke Smith and Prince Ifalade Oyekan as members of the directorate.
Completing the 36-member list are Ireti Ayomide Adewole, Ayo Adesanya, Adeyinka Isiaka, Adekunle Muritala and Chief Dayo Ariyo.
The constitution of the directorate comes as political parties intensify organisational activities ahead of the 2027 elections.
The development underscores the APC’s ongoing preparations for its campaign structure in Lagos State, with the newly constituted directorate expected to play a role in security coordination and stakeholder engagement throughout the electioneering process.
