Hon. (Prince) Adedamola Richard Kasunmu, Deputy Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, earlier today Saturday 21st Match 2026, once again demonstrated his commitment to loyalty, leadership, and reward for selfless service, as he fulfilled his promise of gifting brand-new SUVs to two distinguished party leaders.
The beneficiaries—Alhaji Adekunle Dally-Adeokun, immediate past Chairman of Ikeja LGA APC, and Alhaja Stella Olusola Kokumo, incumbent Chairman of Ojodu LCDA APC—received the vehicles in what turned out to be a remarkable and emotional surprise.
The presentation, which took place at De Rembrandt Hotel, Alausa, Ikeja, was witnessed by an array of party leaders, stakeholders, and constituents.
In attendance were the Olu of Aguda, HRM Oba Shaibu Agbaosi Eweobaja; Chairman of Ikeja LGA, Hon. Akeem Dauda (AKOD); Lagos State APC Assistant Legal Officer, Barr. Debola Ladigbolu; the newly elected Chairman of Ikeja LGA APC, Hon. Adebowale Adetoro (Kimito); immediate past Vice Chairman of Ikeja LGA APC, Prince Oluranti Olufon; Vice Chairman of Ojodu LCDA APC, Comrade Gbemi Lolade; Elder Kolawole Oludare; Elder Gbenga Akindele; Hon. Beyond the SUV presentations, Hon. Kasunmu extended further support to key party leaders, announcing cash gifts of ₦500,000 each to the new Ikeja LGA APC Chairman, Hon. Adebowale Adetoro (Kimito); Ojodu APC Vice Chairman, Comrade Gbemi Lolade; and Ikeja APC Vice Chairman, Prince Oluranti Olufon. Chairman Kimito received his N500,000 girft in brand new Bank notes cash at the venue. Hon. Kasunmu said the brand new notes symbolised the newness of Hon Kimito’s tenure as Chairman. Others received their cash gifts via transfer right at the Venue.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Kasunmu expressed deep appreciation to Alhaji Adekunle Dally-Adeokun and Alhaja Stella Olusola Kokumo for their steadfast love, support, and guidance over the years.
He also commended Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke for his continuous contributions and support for Asiwaju, the party, and the people of Ikeja Federal Constituency.
Clarifying the intent behind the gesture, Hon. Kasunmu emphasized that the presentation of the SUVs should neither be misconstrued as a campaign gimmick nor a political declaration. Rather, he described it as a sincere act of fulfilling promises made to respected party leaders.
In a forward-looking announcement, the vibrant lawmaker also unveiled plans for a large-scale empowerment initiative tagged “ARK SUPER EMPOWERMENT,” which he disclosed will take place before the end of March 2026 and is expected to impact a wide number of party members.
In his vote of appreciation, Alhaji Dally-Adeokun expressed deep surprise and gratitude, noting that although the promise was made a while ago, he never thought it would materialize again.
He thanked Hon. Kasunmu for his thoughtfulness and prayed for his continued success and elevation.
Alhaji Adeokun went further to advise party members and constituents to desist from insulting leaders who have served the party faithfully with their time, energy and resources, urging them instead to honour such individuals as channels of blessing.
He commended the late Yeye Kemi Nelson for institutionalizing the culture of rewarding party loyalty and referenced past beneficiaries, including Comrade Dania. He further acknowledged Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke for previously gifting him and Alhaja Akerele befitting SUVs.
Similarly, Alhaja Stella Kokumo expressed heartfelt appreciation, describing the gift as a wonderful and unexpected gesture.
She emphasized that fulfilling a promise made in private, publicly, reflects strong character and integrity. She encouraged others to emulate such values and urged Hon. Kasunmu to continue fulfilling his commitments to party stakeholders.
She also commended Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke for his continuous support to the party and its members.
The Chairman of Ikeja LGA, Hon. Akeem Dauda, lauded the gesture, describing it as an affirmation of the growing culture of rewarding dedication within the party in Ikeja LGA.
Hon. AKOD urged aspirants and their supporters in forthcoming elections to shun violence and avoid divisive campaigns, emphasizing that the APC has a well-established and credible process for candidate selection.
Other dignitaries who spoke at the colourful event included Hon. Adebowale Adetoro (Kimito), Prince Oluranti Olufon, Comrade Gbemi Lolade, the Olu of Aguda, Barr. Debola Ladigbolu, Elder Gbenga Akindele, Comrade Seun Makinde, and LASTMA Officer, Mr. Moruf Abdullahi.
In a notable moment, Hon. Kasunmu commended Comrade Sola Folowosele for his dedication and officially announced his confirmation as Senior Special Assistant on Media and Constituency Engagement. Hon. Kasunmu also commended all members of his team, including Yinka Dada, the hardworking Chief of Staff to the Deputy Majority Leader.
Alhaja Kudirat Adebayo anchored the opening part of the program.
Guests were treated to a rich array of meals, adding to the celebratory atmosphere of the occasion.
In his closing prayers, Maiyegun Dally-Adeokun offered prayers for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke; Hon. Kasunmu and all House of Assembly members led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa; Local Government Chairmen; party leaders; and all citizens.
The event concluded on a high note, as palpable joys filled the atmosphere while the beneficiaries proudly drove out of the venue in their new Hyundai Santa Fe SUVs (limited edition)—marking a memorable day of honour, gratitude, and fulfilled promises.
