The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has issued a clarification regarding a reported N100 million transfer to the personal account of Victor Egbetokun, son of the outgoing Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun.
According to the NPF, the transfer, which was reported online as coming from the Anambra State Government’s security vote account, was made in error and not intended for Victor Egbetokun.
The statement aims to address public concern over alleged misuse of government funds, emphasizing that the matter was administrative and has since been identified as a mistake.
No further details on corrective actions or internal investigations have been provided by the NPF at this time.
The clarification follows widespread online speculation and reports, reflecting heightened public sensitivity regarding transparency, accountability, and the proper use of security vote allocations by state governments.
