The family of the late Alhaja Abibat Ajasa, the Iyaloja General of Oshodi-Isolo, has held the eighth-day Fidau prayer in her honour, celebrating a life of compassion, entrepreneurship, and selfless service to humanity.
Alhaja Ajasa passed away on June 29, 2026, at the age of 86. The eighth-day Fidau prayer was held at her residence in accordance with Islamic traditions and her final wishes. In line with her instructions, there were no musicians or elaborate entertainment, while daily cooking and merriment throughout the mourning period were also avoided.

The solemn gathering drew family members, foster children, friends, business associates, religious leaders, political office holders, and members of the Nigerian diaspora, who came together to pray for the repose of her soul and celebrate her enduring legacy.
Speaking during the ceremony, members of the family described the late matriarch as a caring, humble, and generous woman who devoted her life to uplifting others. They said she was widely known for intervening whenever people around her faced financial or personal challenges, earning her admiration across different communities.
The family also made a public appeal to anyone with legitimate claims that the deceased owed money, goods, or merchandise during her lifetime to come forward with evidence, assuring that all verified obligations would be settled.

“Our mother lived an honest and transparent life, and we want to ensure that every outstanding obligation is fulfilled in keeping with her values,” the family said.
Until her passing, Alhaja Ajasa served as the Iyaloja General of Oshodi-Isolo, where she played a significant role in promoting the welfare of traders and supporting commercial activities within the local government area.
Family members and associates recounted her remarkable rise from humble beginnings, noting that she ventured into several businesses both locally and internationally before establishing herself in the building and construction sector, where she built a successful career through hard work, resilience, and determination.

They described her life as an inspiring story of perseverance and unwavering faith, adding that despite her achievements, she remained accessible and committed to helping the less privileged.

Among dignitaries present at the Fidau prayer were MC Oluomo, the Vice Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, the Vice Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, community leaders, business associates, and friends from the diaspora.

Islamic clerics at the gathering urged those present to emulate the virtues of the deceased by living lives of integrity, generosity, and service to humanity while praying for Allah to forgive her shortcomings and grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus.

Though mourners grieved her passing, they also celebrated the enduring legacy of a respected market leader, accomplished entrepreneur, devoted wife and mother, and philanthropist whose impact will continue to be felt by generations of people whose lives she touched.
