Rented Crowd, APC Akida Leader Use State Resources for Smear Campaign at DSS Office
A group of individuals, allegedly mobilized by the leader of APC Akida, Tijjani Ramallan, has embarked on a smear campaign against the Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle MON. Using government-provided buses, this orchestrated act has been described as indecent and politically motivated.
Sources allege that Ramallan, a long-time critic of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR and an opponent of Matawalle’s loyalty to the APC, has been using this opportunity to attack the minister. Accusations also suggest that Ramallan has ties to criminal activities, including banditry, further complicating his credibility.
The campaign, reportedly sponsored by the Zamfara State Government under Governor Dauda Lawal, is seen as an extension of the administration’s ongoing efforts to discredit Dr. Matawalle. Despite a prior smear campaign being halted by a court order, critics argue that the government has now resorted to using APC Akida as a proxy for its attacks.
Observers have called on the Department of State Services (DSS) to investigate and address these allegations, emphasizing that Zamfara residents deserve good governance rather than divisive political antics.
The public has urged stakeholders to focus on development and unity, stressing that the “pull him down” syndrome benefits no one.
