Minister Badaru Advocates Military Support as Peace Becomes the Foundation for Economic Growth

The 45th International Trade Fair in Kano to generate opportunities for local and international partnerships, Honourable Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, delivered a powerful message: the future of Nigeria’s economic prosperity rests on the foundation of peace and security.  

Speaking to an audience of business leaders, international investors, and government officials, the Minister emphasized the critical role of the Nigerian Military in combating insecurity, calling for collective support from all Nigerians. He highlighted that without peace, efforts to foster national development and economic diversification would face significant challenges.

The Minister reassured attendees of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to stabilizing the country, emphasizing that ongoing progress in national security is a step toward unlocking Nigeria’s economic potential. He appealed to citizens to support the government and security forces, stating:  

“Our military and security personnel work tirelessly to protect our nation. Their sacrifices deserve not only our gratitude but our unwavering support as they help pave the way for the brighter future we all desire.”

As a former National President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) and a Lifetime Vice President of the organization, Minister Badaru’s presence resonated deeply with the business community. He underscored the pivotal role trade fairs like this play in fostering partnerships, innovation, and economic growth, particularly through non-oil exports.  

“Kano has always been a hub for commerce and industry. By embracing initiatives like this trade fair, we’re not just showcasing products—we’re strengthening the bonds that drive our economy forward he remarked.  

The event attracted a diverse array of notable figures, including representatives from the Office of the Vice President, the Kano State Government, and prominent businesses from across Nigeria and abroad. As they mingled among exhibitors showcasing products ranging from agriculture to technology, the trade fair became a testament to Nigeria’s resilience and its commitment to economic diversification.
