Eight Killed as Bandits Ambush Security Operatives in Katsina
Suspected bandits on Friday night, September 5, 2025, ambushed C-Watch security operatives in Magaji Wando village, Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing eight people and setting two patrol vehicles ablaze.
The attack, which occurred around midnight, began when heavily armed gunmen invaded the village, prompting a distress call. C-Watch operatives responded swiftly and managed to rescue eight villagers who had sustained gunshot injuries.
Tragically, while returning from the rescue operation, the team ran into an ambush. The bandits opened fire, killing the rescued victims and overwhelming the security team. The attackers also torched two patrol vehicles belonging to the outfit before fleeing the scene.
The incident has heightened tension in the area, with residents calling for stronger security interventions to protect vulnerable communities from recurrent attacks.
