In a bold step to combat poverty and provide critical support to the most vulnerable, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, Member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, facilitated a major empowerment initiative today at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), Ogba.
The event, tagged a “Mini Mega Empowerment”, featured the distribution of relief materials to widows and the supply of assorted grains for poverty alleviation across Lagos. This humanitarian exercise was made possible through partnerships with key federal agencies and private organizations.
The Border Communities Development Authority, in conjunction with Spartech Global Ventures Ltd, provided relief materials specifically for widows in the constituency. Simultaneously, the National Productivity Centre, in collaboration with Brown Integrated Energy Services Ltd, facilitated the distribution of assorted grains to support households struggling with food insecurity.
As part of the coordinated effort, ward chairmen from the 18 political wards in Ikeja were mobilized to collect 20 bags of rice per ward from the venue for distribution to their respective communities.
The atmosphere was marked by gratitude and hope, with beneficiaries commending Hon. Faleke’s consistent commitment to grassroots welfare and inclusive development.
