NAOSNP SET TO HOST MEDIA WORKSHOP WEDNESDAY 22ND MAY; AIG ZONE 2 DUROSINMI, SEGUN DADA, AKOSILE, OTHERS TO SPEAK

A body of media professionals dedicated to security reportage and focused on ensuring best practices in the media industry, National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) will hold its Media Workshop on Wednesday 22nd May 2024. Themed ‘Report Nigeria, Rebrand Nigeria’, the 2024 edition of NAOSNP Workshop for Media Practitioners will engage Journalists, Online Publishers, Bloggers, YouTubers, Social Media Influencers, OAP, Broadcasters, et al on best practices to positively report Nigeria; corporate organisations, government agencies etc. This will ensure that Nigeria media plays its role effectively but does it to promote the country among the community of nations.

Speaking on the upcoming programme, the President of NAOSNP, Mr. Oki Samson shared: The Media is the Fourth Estate of the realm for the major reason that it shapes thoughts, moulds perceptions, and sets agenda for the socioeconomic and political development of a country. When Media loses its essence by not doing its job, the country may also fail.’

‘Many media professionals have made it their consistent practice to demarket Nigeria in their notion of doing good journalism or simply as a tradeoff for likes and clicks. But good journalism teaches caution, it considers the long-term impact of a media action before embarking on it. That is the essence of the NAOSNP Media Workshop’, he added.

Top notch speakers in various aspects of life will speak on this topic – REPORT NIGERIA, REBRAND NIGERIA. They include the AIG of Zone 2 Police Command, AIG Olatoye Durosinmi; SSA to the President on Social Media, Hon. Segun Dada; Special Adviser to Gov. Sanwo-Olu on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile; Head of Media, Ecobank, Austen Osokpor; Head of Corporate Communications, Unity Bank, Mr. Matthew Obiazikwor; Chairman of TPT International, Tokunbo Modupe; Security Expert, Matthew Ibadin; General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Olalekan Bakare Oki; Public Relations Consultant to Frieslandcampina, Dr. Kunle Hamilton; Public Education Officer, FRSC Lagos Sector Command, Superintendent Route Commander Olabisi Sonusi; Founder of JournalismNG, Oba Adeoye; among others.

This human capacity development training for media practitioners will hold on Wednesday 22nd May, 2024 at Lagos Chambers of Commerce Industry, LCCI Expo and Conference Center, Alausa, Ikeja. Certificate of participation will be presented to all participants.
